Mud Spring Waterfall
I hiked alone again today :{ so I thought I would do something relatively simple for me. Things started to go wrong early when the dirt road to the trail head was closed. I could still see my destination using the next exit, but it was going to be farther than I had hoped with a cross-country route to boot. Since I had never been in this area before, I wasn't sure what I was getting into. I had to eat some serious brush to get to the right side of the creek. I was already tired and I hadn't even really begun to hit the intended route. It ended up being a little over 5 miles round trip. But it felt much worse to me because of the terrain. I am beat. The waterfalls were awesome, though.
Las Vegas is an excellent place from which to explore the desert. As a co-founder of Figwee.com (a free, photographic weight loss web site), I needed a way to help my weight loss goals. Hiking seemed like a nice fit since I am so close to what I believe is world-class rock scrambling. I just can't stay on an elliptical for more than about thirty minutes. In this blog I try to post the photos from most of my hikes in order to share the amazing scenery.
